Redmi has launched its flagship gaming smartphone Redmi K50G in China. The phone packs powerful specs, a 120Hz display, and 120W fast charging. It also has gaming-specific features and the company also introduced a Formula One-inspired special edition variant.
Redmi K50G features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate. The display has 1,920Hz PWM color adjustment, TrueColor, and MEMC technology. It is HDR10+ certified and also has Display Mate A+. The display has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The phone runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box.
The phone has an automobile-inspired design with a streamlined body. There is an X-shaped theme on the back, camera module and speaker. The camera frame also has an LED strip that doubles as a notification light. This LED features 16 million-color light.
It packs Octa-Core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4nm processor with Adreno next-gen GPU. The phone has a good cooling setup that offers a dual second-generation stainless steel vapor chamber. The vapor chambers cover around 4860mm² total area. The vapor chambers transfer the heat to its second-generation white graphene heat spreaders which are 20% more efficient than the last generation. It is the world’s first device equipped with CyberEngine X-axis motor 1016. The phone has LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It is offered in 8+128GB, 12+128GB, and 12+256GB models.
There are upgraded dedicated gaming triggers that feature a total of eight pop-up magnets improving button stability. Dedicated gaming buttons also now support customization.
The triple camera setup includes a 64 megapixels primary camera, 8 megapixels 119° ultra-wide-angle camera, and 2 megapixels telemacro camera. There is also a 20 megapixels selfie camera.
The fingerprint sensor is on the side button and the phone also has an Infrared sensor. It supports USB Type-C audio and JBL Audio quality certification. The phone has Symmetrical four-unit wideband speakers that include dual 1115 subwoofers and dual 0611 tweeters.
Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS (L1 + L5), NavIC, and USB Type-C. The phone has three Wi-Fi antennas for low latency and improved online gaming experince. Redmi claims that three wi-fi antennas can effectively reduce game latency by 30% compared to traditional dual Wi-Fi antennas. It also has NFC and supports transportation cards in more than 300 Chinese cities, Mi Pay, door cards, and other functions.
Redmi K50G packs a 4700mAh battery with 120W hyper charge fast charging. Redmi claims that the phone charges to 100% in just 17 minutes.

The phone has design elements inspired by the AMG Petronas team. This model comes with a 120W GaN charger in the box. This charger can charge the phone from 0 to 100% in about 17 minutes.
