The popular battle royale game PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is now free to play on PC and consoles starting today. The transition to the F2P model was initially announced by Krafton last month at The Game Awards. This move will start a new era for this popular battle royale game.

Players who initially purchased the game before will receive the PUBG – SPECIAL COMMEMORATIVE PACK. This pack includes an account upgrade, the Battle-Hardened costume skin set, the Shackle and Shanks Legacy Pan, and the Battle-Hardened Legacy nameplate.

There is an optional premium account upgrade offering new and exclusive in-game features. It is a one-time purchase priced at $12.99. Here are the benefits of a premium account.

Along with the F2P transition, the company also announced a 15.2 update. This update brings Tactical Gear and a new category of in-game items. The full Update 15.2 Patch Notes are available HERE.

PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS was initially launched into Steam Early Access in 2017. The game became really popular and is one of the best-selling games of all time. PUBG brand became so popular that it started PUBG Esports and was expanded to mobile devices.
