Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has unveiled its new OriginOS Ocean UI. The company also held a big event in China since the UI is still for China. Smartphones in global markets will get FuntouchOS. The OriginOS Ocean comes with some big UI overhauls. The company claims the new UI is made to offer a smooth experience and low-power consumption.

The OriginOS Ocean has some changes in the call screen. The new Origin OS Ocean comes with customizable icons in a card-type layout. You can resize income in small, medium, and large sizes. The UI even allows you to add custom folders with different colors.

It also comes with a redesigned music player called Walkman. Users can easily call up the Walkman from any interface and also customize the buttons and background colors of the interface.

The UI also comes with redesigned control. Now it offers more information on the battery, network, and sensitive permissions at a glance.

“OriginOS Ocean divides the main user data collection into five data security levels, and improves the sensitive data collection authority in the application to minimise the collection of user information by the application,” says Vivo.

The company has also added reading features including a real page turning effect. The new camera app is getting gesture controls and integrated parameters such as natural saturation and hue saturation. The camera app also has an advanced focusing system. The lock screen has been integrated with various functions.

Vivo has also confirmed that 47 different Vivo phones will get the new OriginOS in the coming months. The rollout will be done in batches, so it may take time to reach all smartphones. The first batch of smartphones getting this UI include Vivo X70 series, Vivo X60 series, and iQoo 8 series. The rollout starts December 30.
