Tecno Mobile has unveiled that the company has worked with Samsung to develop an RGBW camera sensor for future smartphones. The company introduces Samsung’s ISOCELL GWB sensor at an online event. The main feature of the sensor is the RGBW color filter.
The new 64 megapixels sensor adds a white sub-pixel to the red, green, and blue array. So, it improves light sensitivity and better performance in low light.
This is not the first time when a company is experimenting with RGBW sensors. Sony, Huawei, Vivo, and Oppo have all worked on the same thing in the past and we saw impressive results. Samsung is also reportedly working on a 50 megapixels RGBW sensor for the Galaxy S22 series.
This new sensor will debut on the Tecno phone in 2022.
