Sony has announced a range of first-party console covers for the PlayStation 5. These console covers come in five new colors: Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, Galactic Purple, Cosmic Red, and Midnight Black. These standalone items can be purchased separately and used as a replacement for the default white covers.

Replacing the original covers for the PS5 is a pretty straightforward process. Covers are designed to just slide off without needing any tools.

The Black and Red cores will be available in January 2022 in the USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Korea, and the Philippines. Pink, Purple and Blue covers will be available in the first half of 2022. Sony has not confirmed the pricing.

To match the new covers, Sony has also launched the DualSense controller in Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple. We already have Cosmic Red and Midnight Black versions that were launched back in May this year.

DualSense in new colors will be available in January 2022.

Sony’s announcement of these new console covers came just weeks after the company patented its PS5 faceplates. The company also initiated legal action against multiple third-party companies that sold black faceplates. DBrand also faced legal action and was forced to pull its faceplates from the website.
