Samsung merges mobile and consumer electronics divisions

Samsung has announced the company is merging mobile and consumer electronics divisions. There is also a big reshuffle in the leadership. This decision has been taken to strengthen its business competitiveness and for future growth.

After this reshuffle, Jong-Hee (JH) Han is the new Vice Chairman and CEO. He will lead the newly merged SET Division and will also continue to head the Visual Display Business. President Kyehyun Kyung who is currently the CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics will be the co-CEO of Samsung. He will also lead the chip and components division.

New CEO JH Han was previously a leader in TV research and development. He played a major role in achieving the top position in global TV sales for the 15th consecutive year. Kyehyun Kyung previously lead Samsung’s Flash Product & Technology Team. He was also the part of DRAM Design Team.

Yongin Park was previously Executive Vice President and Head of System LSI Sales & Marketing. He is now the President and Head of System LSI Business. Hark Kyu Park is now President and Chief Financial Officer. Previously, he lead the Corporate Management Office, DS Division.

Inyup Kang is named the new President and Head of North America Office for DS Division. He was previously President and Head of System LSI Business.

There are also a few other changes in the top management.
