WhatsApp has now added the preview option for voice messages. So, you can listen to the voice message before hitting the send button. The preview option will be shown soon after you stop recording.

This feature will be really helpful to a lot of people who regularly use voice messages. If you find a mistake in your voice message, you can delete it and rerecord.

The company has already started rolling it out and will be available across all platforms including iOS, Android, web, and desktop.

Earlier this year, the company also added the ability to speed up voice message playback. As per recent reports, the company is also working on adding the ability to pause and resume the recording of a voice message. The company is also testing a floating voice message player. So, you will be able to listen to voice notes while reading other WhatsApp chats. I cannot confirm when these features will be added to the app.
