Google announced Google Pixel 6 and Google Pixel 6 Pro after a few weeks of teasers and months of leaks. These most awaited smartphones by Google are official now. The company mainly focused on performance, smarts, and photography in these smartphones.
Both the smartphones are powered by Google’s custom-developed Tensor SoC. The 5nm SoC has an octa-core processor with two whole Cortex-X1 powerful cores. There are also two mid-level cores and four power-efficient cores in these smartphones.
The Pixel 6 comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and the Pixel 6 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate. Both the smartphones will run on Android 12. They will receive security updates for at least 5 years, but OS updates are only for 3 years.
Both the smartphones have a new 50-megapixel camera with a Samsung GN1 sensor that capture more colors, more detail, and 150% more light than the previous version Pixel 5. There is a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens in both smartphones. The Pixel 6 Pro also has a 48MP telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom. The Super Res Zoom feature lets you zoom up to 20x.
Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones have a custom image processor that takes computational photography to a new level. Magic Eraser feature automatically removes all the distractions from photos, Face Unblur feature picks a sharp face from a group of photos and turns it onto an action shot. Portrait Mode shots features now have improved subject separation and better skin tone rendering. Night Mode and Astrophotography also have improved over previous Pixels too.
The Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro feature a Live Translation feature that can translate messages, captions, or text in the camera viewfinder in up to 55 languages. Both smartphones can act as an Interpreter in French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, or Spanish by using Tensor SoC, which is fully offline.
The Pixel 6 smartphone has a 4614mAh battery and the Pixel 6 Pro has a 5000mAh battery. Google claims that the battery of Pixel 6 Pro will last for more than 24 hours, even on 5G. Both the smartphones support 30W wired charging that can charge up to 50% in just 30 minutes.
The Pixel 6 comes in three color options, Stormy Black, Kinda Coral, and Sorta Seafoam. It will be available priced at $599 for the 8GB + 128GB version, and the 8GB + 256GB version will be costs $699.
The Pixel 6 Pro comes in Stormy Black, Sorta Sunny, and Cloudy White colors. This smartphone is available at $899 for the 12GB + 128GB version, $999 for the 12GB + 256GB version and the top-end 12GB + 512GB version costs $1099.
Both the smartphone are available to order from today and will be available on stores and major U.S. carriers starting on October 28th. It will also be available in Canada, Australia, Japan, France, Germany, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom but there are no details about its launch in India yet.
