Twitter has finally started testing emoji reactions for tweets with users in Turkey. Users who receive emoji reactions can respond to tweets with reactions that include “Face with tears of joy”, “Thinking face,” “Clapping hands,” “Crying face,” or a simple “Heart.”
Twitter didn’t include any negative emoji in emoji reactions. The company also gave a reason for this. Twitter did a survey for reactions and most users were concerned about getting negative emoji feedback. So, it didn’t include ‘frustration’ or ‘anger’ emoji reaction.
With emoji reactions, Twitter wants users to give more ways to respond to tweets and show how they feel about it. Emoji reactions are available via long-press on the Like button. Normal tap will still like the Tweet.
Facebook has been offering Emoji reactions for years. Twitter has also been offering it within direct messages, now it is expanding it to regular Tweet.
Twitter users in Turkey can try Emoji reactions on iOS, Android, and the web. After receiving a good response from Turkey users, the company will expand it to more users.
