Facebook and Ray-Ban have announced their rumored smart glasses dubbed as Ray-Ban Stories. This smart glass lets users capture photos and video, share your adventure, listen to music and take phone calls.

Ray-Ban Stories smart glass features a dual 5 megapixels camera. So, you can capture your life moments as they happen from a first-person perspective. You can capture photos and record up to 30-second videos. For capturing photos or videos, you can either use the button or Facebook Assistant voice command.

There’s a LED light on the glass that lets other people know that you are capturing photos or videos. There are open-ear speakers built-in and a three-microphone audio array for calls. It has Beamforming technology and a background noise suppression algorithm for enhanced calling experience. There’s a power switch to turn off the cameras and microphone for privacy reasons.

“Ray-Ban Stories are an important step towards a future when phones are no longer a central part of our lives and you won’t have to choose between interacting with a device or interacting with the world around you,” CEO Mark Zuckerberg says.

Facebook has also released the Facebook View app that can be paired with the smart glass and share your point of view, stories, and memories seamlessly with friends and followers. The app is available for both Android and iOS.

This smart glass is really light in weight and weighs just 50 grams. It also comes with a leather hardshell charging case. Ray-Ban Stories are available in 20 variations.

Ray-Ban Stories is priced at $299 USD.
