Amazon also unveiled its first robot ‘Amazon Astro’ along with several other devices. The device features Alexa and can roam around the home. It comes with a periscope camera, a moving screen on the front, and two big wheels for navigation.

For this home robot, Amazon made its own autonomous movement, home mapping, and visual understanding platform. The device uses AI and deep neural learning to make sure the device understands the path and navigate without bumping into a wall or any other object.

The display of Astro shows cure expressions but can also be used to show video calls and other information. By using Ring’s Protect Pro subscription service, you can program Astro robot to patrol your home when you are away. The device can detect the sound of a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, or breaking glass. It will then send you notifications and can also record everything to your ring account.

Astro is Amazon’s ambitious project the company has been working on for years. Amazon also plans to sell limited quantities of Astro this year before jumping into mass production.

Amazon Astro has been designed for home monitoring. Basically, it offers a portable Alexa experience. The device is priced at $999.
