Today, MediaTek announced two new mobile platforms Dimensity 920 and Dimensity 810 for 5G smartphones. The company claims that these mobile platforms will provide smartphone manufacturers the ability to offer boosted performance, smarter display, and improved cameras.
Dimensity 920 is built on a 6nm manufacturing process and promises balanced performance and an incredible mobile experience. It supports hardware-based 4K HDR video capture, intelligent displays, and 9% boost in gaming performance compared to its predecessor. Other notable features including support for LPDDR5 memory, support for UFS 3.1 storage, and MediaTek HyperEngine 3.0.
It supports dual 5Gm dual VoNR (Voice over New Radio), up to 2CC carrier aggregation, 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and multi-GNSS for navigation.
Dimensity 810 is a 6nm SoC. It promises to offer premium camera features including artistic AI-color in collaboration with Arcsoft, and advanced noise reduction techniques for superb low-light photography. It also supports 120Hz display, good low-light capture, MediaTek’s HyperEngine 2.0 gaming technologies, and an advanced networking engine.
The integrated 5G modem in Dimensity 810 supports up to 2CC carrier aggregation, mixed duplex FDD + TDD CA, dual 5G SIM, and VoNR.
MediaTek Dimensity 920 and Dimensity 810 to become available in 5G smartphones by Q3 2021.
