Sony has now confirmed that it has already sold more than 10 million PS5 consoles. That means the company sold more than 2 million in last 3 months. It previously revealed 7.8 million PS5 sales back in April. With this pace, the latest get Playstation console is already the fastest-selling console in Sony’s history.

Even if the company is selling a good number of PS5 sales, huge demand is still making it hard for customers to get it. Stocks of PS5 are being affected by the global chip shortage.

“While PS5 has reached more households faster than any of our previous consoles, we still have a lot of work ahead of us as demand for PS5 continues to outstrip supply,” says Jim Ryan, president, and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Unlike Sony, Microsoft doesn’t share sales numbers for Xbox. We just know that the latest Xbox Series S and X are selling well.

“The Xbox Series S and X are our fastest selling consoles ever, with more consoles sold life-to-date than any previous generation,” said Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella during the company’s earnings call yesterday.

Daniel Ahmad, a senior analyst at Niko Partners, shared an estimated number for Xbox Series X and S sales. As per his post, Microsoft may have sold 6.5 million Xbox Series X and S as of June 30, 2021.
