OnePlus normally releases two flagship smartphone series each year. One is the regular flagship and the other is the T series of flagships with normal improvements over the regular flagships. If we believe recent reports, OnePlus may ditch the OnePlus 9T series.

The reason for canceling the OnePlus 9T could be the ongoing global chip shortage due to the slow manufacturing and supply chain affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. These are still assumptions because there is no confirmation from the company.

There is also speculation that it could be related to OnePlus’ closer ties with OPPO.

The T series of flagships come with slight improvements over the regular OnePlus flagship series. So, users won’t miss any extraordinary device.

OnePlus has already started working seriously on the Nord series. So, we can now expect the OnePlus flagship series and multiple Nord smartphones from the company each year.
