MediaTek has announced a new SoC specifically designed for tablets and laptops. This SoC is called MediaTek Kompanio 1300T. It comes with support to 5G, HDR10+, 4K HDR videos, and more.
Kompanio 1300T is bull on 6nm architecture. It packs an octa-core CPU with four Arm Cortex-A78 super cores and four Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The SoC is paired with Arm Mali-G77 MC9 GPU. It also supports 16GB of memory and dual-channel UFS 3.1 storage.
MediaTek also confirmed that the SoC supports up to 2.5K displays with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and HDR10+. It also features MediaTek MiraVision technology.
The SoC can support up to 108MP cameras, chip-level staggered 4K HDR video recording, and 4K 60fps video encoding and decoding. It also has an ultra-low-power voice on wakeup (VoW) function.
If I talk about connectivity, the SoC supports all 5G Sub-6GHz frequency bands, 2CC Carrier Aggregation, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2.
Devices powered by MediaTek Kompanio 1300T are expected to land in the market by the end of 2021. Kompanio 1300T offers power efficiency and affordability while maintaining good performance. Honor has already confirmed that Honor Tablet V7 Pro will pack Kompanio 1300T SoC.
