“Twelve never-boring months later, we’re thrilled to share that Clubhouse is now out of beta, open to everyone, and ready to begin its next chapter. This means we have removed our waitlist system so that anyone can join.” read the blog post.

The invite-only system was put in place to keep the scaling under control. So, the tech team has enough time and resources for making the platform stable for a large number of users.

Clubhouse also confirmed that the platform added some 10 million people since they launched on Android in mid-May. Clubhouse recently introduced direct messages and the app has now already seen over 90 million direct messages since the launch last week.

At the time when Clubhouse was limiting signups with its invite-only system, other similar social audio products were opened to everyone. Most social media platforms have also added audio only chat rooms So, Clubhouse now has already a good competition to beat.
