At the 44th annual general meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries, Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani has announced Reliance Jio’s affordable Android smartphone JioPhone Next. Reliance Jio partnered with Google to make this JioPhone Next.
This affordable Android phone runs Android. Google has worked on an optimized version of Android OS, especially for this device. Google promises that this optimized Android will offer language and translation features, a great camera, and support for the latest Android updates. The phone will also offer Google Play Store access.
“JioPhone Next is powered by an extremely optimized version of the Android operating system that has been jointly developed by Jio and Google, especially for the Indian market,” said Mukesh Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Industries, at the virtual AGM.
The company has not released any official photo of the phone. We just saw a glimpse at the presentation shared during the Reliance AGM. This image shows a full-touch display phone.
The JioPhone Next will be available in the market starting from Ganesh Chaturthi, 10th September. The company has yet to confirm the pricing off the phone.
