Microsoft reaches a $2 trillion market cap

A few hours back, Microsoft achieved $2 trillion market capitalization. The tech giant is the only the second publicly traded American company to reach such a valuation. Apple currently has a market capitalization of $2.23 trillion.

Microsoft crossed $2 trillion market capitalization on Tuesday after star prices crossed $265.51. Currently, the company has a market value of about $1.9 trillion. it is expected to enter in $2 trillion club again after the Windows 11 launch.

The company crossed the $1 trillion market cap for the first time in 2019. In just 2 years, it managed to double its market cap even if this period was mostly hit by a pandemic. Share prices of Microsoft climbed 64% since March 2020. It reported 19 percent year-over-year growth in sales when sales reached tp $41.7 billion in the first quarter of 2020.

The company also achieved this milestone two days ahead of its Windows 11 launch.

Saudi Arabian oil company Saudi Aramco had also previously achieved a $2 trillion market cap but its current lunation is now under this mark.
