John McAfee, the creator of the McAfee software, was founded deal in his prison cell in Spain on Wednesday, 23 June. He hanged himself after the Spanish high court authorized his extradition to the United States on tax evasion charges.

Lawyers for McAfee also confirmed his death and blamed the system for keeping him in jail for so long without any reason.

McAfee was arrested in October 2020 and faced charges of tax evasion. It was reported that he didn’t file tax returns from 2014 to 2018 even if he was earning millions from different sources. He was also charged with security fraud. He promoted deals for cryptocurrencies without disclosing that it was a paid promotion.

McAfee claimed that he was arrested despite paying millions of dollars in taxes. He also claimed that he would face political persecution for opposing the fiat money system and denouncing corruption in the tax system.

John McAfee also ran for the US president as a Libertarian in 2016.

McAfee Associates was once a leading computer security company that he started in his small house in Santa Clara, California back in 1987. The company went public in 1992 making John McAfee a millionaire. He resigned in 1994 but the company kept growing. Intel bought the company in 2010 for $7.7 billion and later sold the majority stake to an investment firm.
