Apple TV app is now available on the Android TV platform. Apple initially released Apple TV on Apple devices. Later it expanded the service to the Fire OS ecosystem and LG’s WebOS. During the launch of RTX 3080Ti and 3070Ti, NVIDIA announced that the app is available on the NVIDIA shield.
On its official blog NVIDIA writes, “Starting today, SHIELD owners can access the Apple TV app, including Apple TV+, and its impressive lineup of award-winning series, compelling dramas, groundbreaking documentaries, kids’ shows, comedies and more.”
Now 9to5Google has confirmed that availability on NVIDIA Shield TV also means that the Apple TV app is also available for the Android TV OS ecosystem. Xiaomi has already confirmed that Apple TV is now available on the entire Android TV range of the company.
Android smart TVs are now popular in the country. Several brands such as Sony, Xiaomi, Realme, TCL, Vu, and OnePlus offer Android TVs. Making Apple TV available to Android TV platform will help Apple in getting more subscribers for Apple TV+ subscription service.
For accessing Apple TV content, users need to purchase the Apple TV+ subscription. The content is also available in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for the best possible experience. The service includes Apple Originals content.
