As the 2nd wave of Covid-19 continues, demand for pulse oximeter has grown. Due to this high demand, manufacturers and sellers are finding it hard to meet the demand. If you also want to buy a pulse oximeter but couldn’t, you can try this mobile app.

Kolkata-based health start-up ‘CareNow Healthcare’ has developed a smartphone app that can measure Heart Rate, Oxygen Saturation, and Respiration Rate. The app is called CarePlix Vital’s.

After installation of the app, Open the app and tap “Record Vitals.” Then, place a finger on your smartphone’s rear camera and flashlight. Tap Start Scan and wait for a few seconds. The app will tell you SpO2, pulse and respiration rates.

I have personally tested the app and verified the results using an Oximeter. Results were similar. It seems the app has good accuracy. You should try it. The app also keeps vital history.

This app won’t be free forever. The app was made to charge a subscription cost but is being made available for free due to 2nd wave of Covid pandemic. The app is available for both Android and iOS.
