Microsoft Teams now offers free video calls for personal use

Microsoft is now launching the personal version of Microsoft Teams. So, you can now use the Teams to make free video calls to friends and families.

Users will be able to have free 24-hour video calls with up to 300 people. After the pandemic ends, Microsoft will eventually enforce limits of 60 minutes for group calls of up to 100 people. But person-to-person calls can be up to 24 hours. The company is also enabling Together mode for personal usage. Together mode users to segment your face and shoulders and place you together with other people a virtual place.

Now Teams will directly compete against Skype that is also owned by Microsoft. Microsoft has made it clear that the company is fully committed to Skype. So, Skype suers need not to worry. Microsoft Teams for personal use now works across mobile apps, web and desktop apps.

If you already use Teams for workplace, you can keep using the same software with personal login details. The company has also made it easier to switch profiles.
