We all know that Google’s Chrome web browser is the most popular browser globally. Now a research report claims that Google Chrome has nearly 3.3 billion users. This makes roughly 41% of internet users and 60 percent of all devices.

The numbers we are talking about are released in a recent report by Atlas VPN. The company used GlobalStats browser market share percentage data and converted it into numbers using the InternetWorldStats internet user metric to find out exact numbers.

If I talk about competition, Safari is the second most popular browser with less than 1 billion (944 million) internet users. Mac and iPhone users are the reason for Safari’s numbers. Firefox is at the Thord with around 180 million users using it actively. Edge, Samsung Internet, and Opera are at 4th, 5th, and 6th places with 171 million, 166 million, and 112 million active users.

Google Chrome is based on open-source Chromium project and was released back in September 2008.
