Microsoft officially launches Surface Laptop 4

Microsoft has officially launched its latest Surface Laptop dubbed as Surface Laptop 4. The successor comes with the same design but is offered in new colors and upgraded hardware.

Surface Laptop 4 comes in 13.5-inch and 15-inch versions. This time, you also have Intel and AMD processor options. Intel model comes with 11th generation Intel Core processors with Iris Xe graphics. AMD models are packed with Ryzen 4000 processors and Radeon Graphics. These models pack 8GB or 16GB LPDDR4X RAM, and 256GB or 512GB SSD storage.

There’s a 720p front camera for video calls and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Microsoft has included Dual far-field Studio Mics and Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Atmos.

Microsoft claims that the 13.5-inch model offers up to 19 hours (AMD) and up to 17 hours (Intel) of battery life. The 15.5-inch variant promises 17.5 hours (AMD) and 16.5 hours (Intel) battery backup.

“Surface Laptop 4 offers a choice between either the 11th Gen Intel Core processors, or AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors with Radeon Graphics Microsoft Surface Edition (8 cores); in either case, you’ll find a smooth experience that powers modern, multitasking demands. Across both options, we’ve partnered to customize silicon in ways that boost performance while offering improved battery life,” Microsoft says

Surface Laptop 4 is now up for pre-orders in the US, Canada, and Japan. Prices start at $999.99 for AMD models and $1,299.99 for Intel models.
