MediaTek has announced the launch of a new 5G SoC Dimensity 700 5G. Dimensity 700 5G is a 7nm SoC and will be used in affordable and mid-range smartphones.

Dimensity 700 SoC has an octa-core CPU that includes two Cortex-A76 performance cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores clocked at 2GHz. Mediatek claims that this 7nm SoC is 28 percent more efficient than 8nm fabricated chips.

Dimensity 700 SoC supports up to Full HD+ 90Hz displays. It can also handle 30fps graphics output at up to 2K video resolution. The SoC supports LPDDR4x memory, UFS 2.2 storage standards, up to 64MP multi-camera setups, and compatibility with multiple voice assistants.

If I talk about connectivity, the SoC brings 5G, 4G, ISRO’s NavIC, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1.

“The MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip will create a new wave in the 5G smartphone segment in India and also expect more OEMs to join the league in the coming months,” said Anku Jain, Managing Director, MediaTek India.

Realme CEO Madhav Seth confirmed that the company will launch the first Dimensity 700 powered phone. Now Flipkart is teasing the launch of Realme 8 5G with Dimensity 700 SoC. The phone will be launched on April 22.
