DJI announced its new drone camera Mavic Air 2S

DJI, the company known for its stabilizers and drone cameras has announced its latest drone camera DJI Mavic Air 2S. Mavic Air 2S is the successor to Mavic Air 2 and boasts several improvements over its predecessor.

The design is nearly identical to its predecessor and it packs the same 3,500mAh. Air 2S is 25g heavier than its predecessor and flight time is also 31 minutes – down from 33 minutes in Mavic Air 2. It supports the latest OcuSync with a maximum control range of 12km.

Mavic Air 2S features a 1-inch sensor with a larger pixel size of 2.4μm. So, the sensor carpets more information and offers detailed photos and videos. The sensor can capture 20MP photos and 5.4K videos.

It supports 4X zoom at 4K 30fps, 6X at 2.7K 30fps, 4X at 2.7K 60fps, 6X at 1080P 60fps and 8X at 1080P 30fps. It can record H264 or H265 and users get three video color profiles, Normal (8 bit), D-Log (10 bit), or HLG (10 bit). The DJI Air 2S also captures video at a higher 150Mbps.

The drone camera also has 3-axis mechanical gimbal for smooth footage. Mavic Air 2S fetres obstacle avoidance from four sides: forward, backward, downward and upward.

DJI Mavic Air 2S is priced at US$ 999. The pricing includes the drone, remote controller, one battery, and all the cables and parts needed to operate the device.
