Truecaller, the company behind the popular caller ID app, has launched a new personal safety called Guardians. The app is now available for free to download on Google Play Store & Apple App Store. There are no ads or premium tiers.

Guardians app lets you select your personal Guardians from your contact list. You can then start/stop location sharing and setup permanent location sharing with the selected Guardians. There is also an emergency button. Tapping on it will notify all your Guardians about your location.

The setup process is quite easy and it asks phone number for sign-in. If you are already a Truecaller user, you can sign in with one tap.

The app is designed to run in the background and has been optimized to consume less battery. It only needs permissions to your location, contacts, and phone. Phone permission is to show your phone status to your Guardians.

The company promises that it will never share any personal information with any third-party services.
