Carl Pei’s new tech company Nothing has unveiled Concept 1, the concept design of its upcoming true wireless earbuds. It is just a concept design that may or may not be used in the actual product. This concept has been designed by Tom Howard, the company’s head of design.

“The Concept 1 takes inspiration from grandmother’s tobacco pipe,” says Carl Pei. The device is transparent with black label inside that reads ‘Nothing,’

Pei also claims that this is just a concept design and the final product will be “much sexier.” He also notes, “peel off everything superficial, like unnecessary branding on the surface.” But we can clearly see the branding on the concept design.

Nothing will launch its first product in the second half of 2021. The company was founded by Carl Pei who left ONePlus last year to start Nothing. Nothing has already received backing from Alphabet’s venture capital arm, Steve Huffman from Reddit, Twitch’s Kevin Lin, Tony Fadell, Neistat, and Kunal Shah.
