Software giant Microsoft has announced the launch of Office 2021. Office 2021 will be available in two versions including office 2021 and office 2021 LTSC or Office Long Term Servicing Channel. The commercial preview of Microsoft Office LTSC will be available in April. For personal and businesses, it will be available later this year.

“Office 2021 will also be supported for five years with the traditional ‘one-time purchase’ model. We do not plan to change the price for these products at the time of the release. We will announce more details about new features included in Office 2021 closer to general availability,” the company said in a blog post.

Office 2021 includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Office 2021 comes with dark mode support across multiple apps. Apps also one with accessibility improvements and performance improvements. Microsoft has confirmed that Office 2021 will not be shipped with Skype for Business, but it will bundle Microsoft Teams app.

Release of Office 2021 comes as a surprise because the company is heavily pushing Microsoft 365, cloud based software suite. Office 365 will keep getting better features while Office 2021 is on the way.
