Instagram now lets you restore deleted posts. The company is adding a Recently Deleted folder where it will keep posts you delete for 30 days. You can restore a post from this section within 30 days if you want. It works with all kinds of Instagram posts including photos, videos, reels, IGTV videos, and stories. Stories will only be in the Recently Deleted section for 24 hours.

To access the Recently Deleted folder, navigate to Settings > Account > Recently Deleted.

This tool will be helpful for hacked accounts. After recovering the account, they can now recover posts if the hacker cleared their Insta feed. This is similar to the Recently Deleted folder we see in iPhone. You can also see it as recycle bin.

“We know hackers sometimes delete content when they gain access to an account,” Instagram explained in a blog post today, “and until now people had no way of easily getting their photos and videos back.”

The company also confirmed that it will ask users to verify that they are the right person before permanently deleting or restoring content.
