Sony has given Indian gamers the first good news of 2020. The company on Friday confirmed that PlayStation 5 will be launched in India on February 2. Pre-orders for the new gaming console start on January 12. Interested gamers can pre-order the PlayStation 5 from a number of retailers including Amazon India, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Games the Shop, Sony Center, Vijay Sales, and authorized retail partners.
PlayStation 5 is priced at Rs. 49,990 for the Indian market. the digital edition of the console will be sold at Rs. 39,990.

PlayStation 5 was announced in June 2020 and was launched back in November 2020 in select markets. India fans have also been frustrated for not revealing the India launch details. Sony hinted at the delay in India’s launch due to the local import regulations but there was no clear statement from the company.
Gaming is popular in India but it is still not a big market for gaming consoles. Most people in India still prefer playing games on PC and mobile phones. Now when teens are seeing a successful career in esports, gaming marketing is growing. Obviously more people in India can now afford gaming consoles. So, Sony can expect a good response to the next-gen gaming console. Microsoft is struggling to meet the demand for the next Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles in India. That shows how people in India have turned to console gaming.
