CoWIN will be the official COVID-19 Vaccine App for India

CoWIN app

Now when COVID-19 vaccines are available, the Indian government has confirmed that CoWIN will be the digitization platform for the rollout of the vaccine. CoWIN stands for COVID Vaccine Intelligence Network. The official app has not been released, so don’t download any random app with the same name from Google Play Store. I will surely report with the download link once the app is available.

CoWIN aims to be a one-stop digital platform to make streamline the vaccination process. There will be an app for end-user along with other models such as Administrator Modules for bulk registration, beneficiary registration module for self-registration, and vaccination module for verification of beneficiary details. The official website is now live but it still lacks any option to register.

As per reports, users will have to upload a photo identity to register on the app. One can use any official document such as Aadhar Card, Driving License, or PAN Card as a photo identity. Over 75 lakh health officials have already registered for vaccination.

CoWIN app will be available for several platforms such as Android and iOS. There will be an app for KaiOS users as well.

Users must be careful and verify each information before taking any step. Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan has also confirmed that the vaccination will be free for frontline workers. Not sure how much will it cost to the general public.

When the platform and the app are available for users, the Indian government will reveal the guidelines for the vaccination. So stay tuned for the updates.
