AMD unveils Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors at CES 2021

AMD has announced its Ryzen 5000 series mobile processors on Tuesday at CES 2021.

The company has divided new processors into two categories — H-series and U-series. H-series is based on Zen 3 architecture and aims at gaming and content creation. The U-series is based on Zen 2 architecture and is for ultrabooks. Each category has four chipsets — Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5, Ryzen 7, and Ryzen 9. Check details of all the processors below.

The top-end offering is Ryzen 7 5800U that is an eight-core processor with 16-thread. It has a 1.9GHz clock speed that can be boosted up to 4.4GHz. Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU can offer 14 percent better single-threaded performance and 37 percent overall CPU performance than i9-10980HK.

Several laptop manufacturers have already promised to launch laptops powered by these CPUs soon. Asus has already announced new ROG laptops based on these processors.
