Fitbit launched its high-end smartwatch Fitbit Sense earlier this year. Now the company has discovered reading issues with ECG sensors of some Fitbit Sense units. The issue cannot be solved with a software update, so the company has decided to recall all the smartwatches.

Fitbit has sent emails to customers warning that their devices have an hardware issue. The company will replace the faulty Sense units with new ones.

“We identified a hardware issue with your device that could affect its ability to work properly. Please return the device to us. We’ll provide you with a prepaid return label. To ensure the best possible Fitbit experience, we’re providing you with a replacement free of charge,” says an email sent to customers.

Some customers thought it a scam but this is not. The company has also provided instructions on how to send in the smartwatch and receive a new unit.

Fitbit Sense was launched in India back in August this year. It is priced at Rs 34,999. If you bought this smartwatch recently and received the email from the company, you can contact their customer supports for the replacement.
