Apple just unveiled a new over-ear headphone Apple AirPods Max. If you think of buying it, it will cost you Rs. 59,900.
Apple AirPods Max is an over-ear headphone. Apple claims that AirPods Max should offer exceptional acoustic performance. It has a breathable knit mesh canopy and spanning the headband. The stainless steel headband frame is there to provide flexibility and strength. There’s a Digital Crown to offer precise volume control and the ability to play or pause audio, skip tracks, answer or end calls, and activate Siri. This Digital Crown looks similar to what we get in Apple Watch.
AirPods Max packs 40-mm Apple-designed dynamic drivers to provide rich, deep bass, accurate mid-range, and crisp, clean high-frequency extension. Even at max volume, the total harmonic distortion will be less than 1 percent. With the use of computational audio, this headphone can deliver a high-quality listening experience. It also packs an Apple-designed H1 chip in each ear cup. Notable audio fealties include Adaptive EQ, Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, and spatial audio.
AirPods Max is joining the AirPods family. You will enjoy automatic pairing with all the devices signed into your iCloud account. The device can automatically detect when headphones are on your head. By using beam-forming microphones, it can block ambient noise to focus on your voice.
AirPods Max requires Apple devices running iOS 14.3 or later, iPadOS 14.3 or later, macOS Big Sur 11.1 or later, watchOS 7.2 or later, or tvOS 14.3 or later. There’s no mention of compatibility with non-Apple products.
It promises up to 20 hours of listening time on a single charge with Active Noise Cancellation. AirPods Max also supports fast charging. Just 5 minutes of charging will give you around 1.5 hours of listening time.
This isn’t a fill folding headphone. You can only lay the cups flat. Apple is also providing a slim Smart Case for carrying the AirPods Max. As soon as you put headphones inside the case, it will automatically trigger an ultralow-power state.
Apple is offering AirPods Max in space gray, silver, sky blue, green, and pink colors. You can order it starting today.
This headphone will directly compete against Sony WH-1000XM4 and Bose 700. It is also worth to mention that AirPods Max isn’t the first over-ear headphones. Apple acquired Beats back in 2014 and then released several Beats headphones over the past few years.
