Amazon has launched Prime Video’s “Watch Party” feature in India. This feature lets you stream a Prime Video title with up to 100 friends and family members and chat with them in the sidebar. All the people can watch the video together from anywhere.

To create a “Watch Party,” you need to visit primevideo.com and login with your Amazon account. Once you are logged in, search the title you want to watch with your friends or family members and click on the Watch Party icon. See the snapshot to learn the location of the Watch Party link.

Once you click Watch Party, it asks you to select the chat name and you will be given a link to the watch party. Share this link with your friends and family who you wish to join the Watch Party.

The person who crates Watch Party will have access to video controls. He/she is the only one who can pause, play, rewind, and fast forward the video. Participants can only control the audio and subtitle language.

Amazon’s Watch Party is only limited to desktop browsers such as Chrome and Firefox. Safari and Internet Explorer are not supported.

It is worth noting that all the participants must have a Prime membership or Prime Video subscription to join the Watch Party. Amazon Prime’s monthly subscription costs ₹129 and yearly subscription is priced at ₹999.

This feature was rolled out in the US back in July and now the feature is available in India.
