Apple has brought back MagSafe charging but this time on iPhone. It improves wireless charging capability. MagSafe for iPhone is a wireless charger that magnetically attaches at the back of the iPhone to charge it.

MagSafe includes a polycarbonate housing, copper-graphite shield, and a magnet array. It ensures the charger sits in the optimal place for maximum charging efficiency.

There will be a new ecosystem of magnetic cases including silicone, leather, and clear cases MagSafe chargers.

Apple will sell MagSafe iPhone charger and the combo MagSafe Duo Charger (for both iPhone and Watch). Both support 15W wireless charging.

MagSafe chargers based on Qi charging and can be used to charge existing Qi-enabled devices. The iPhone 12‌ will still support existing Qi charging mats. So you can use it with any other Qi wireless charger if you don’t want to buy this MagSafe charger.

The standard MagSafe charger will cost $39. It is still listed at “coming soon” on the Apple store. Apple has yet to confirm the availability details.
