Google launches Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G
Google has just launched new Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G smartphones at its ‘Launch Night In’ event. Both the phones pack Snapdragon 765G but different in internals. That means you are not getting top-of-the-line chipset in the flagship model. But that’s not a surprise. Google’s focus is offering top-notch camera experience and it has a custom chip doing that magic.
Google Pixel 5 is priced at $699 while the Pixel 4A 5G costs $499. Both the phones will be launched only in selected markets. Google has already confirmed that these phones won’t be launched in India.
Google Pixel 5 features a 6-inch FHD+ OLED 90Hz HDR display with Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It packs Snapdragon 765G 7nm Soc with Adreno 620 GPU. The phone has 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage.
It has a dual camera that includes 12.2 megapixels primary camera and 16 megapixels ultra-wide camera. You get EIS and 4K recording at 60 fps. For selfies, it has 8 megapixels camera at the front.
The phone has rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. There are stereo speakers and USB Type-C audio. Connectivity options are 5G SA/NA 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0 LE, GPS, USB Type C 3.1 (1st Gen), and NFC. It packs 4000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, Qi wireless charging, and reverse charging.
The phone has IP68-certified for dust and water resistance. The fingerprint sensor is on the back. It is made of recycled aluminum, still manages to offer wireless charging and reverse wireless charging capabilities.
Google Pixel 4A 5G has a slightly bigger 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED HDR display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It packs same Snapdragon 765G 7nm Soc with Adreno 620 GPU. The phone comes with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage.
It has the same camera setup as in Pixel 5. That means 12.2 megapixels + 16 megapixels dual rear camera and 8 megapixels selfie camera.
The model is made out of polycarbonate. It also lacks dust or water resistance. Pixel 4A 5G has a 3.5mm audio jack along with stereo speakers.
The phone has 5G SA/NA 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.1 LE, GPS, USB Type-C, and NFC connectivity. It packs a 3800 mAh battery with 18W fast charging packs.
Customers who buy any of these phones will get 3 months of Stadia Pro, YouTube Premium, Google One with 100GB of storage, and Google Play Pass.
