Fossil has just introduced its new Fossil Gen 5E smartwatch. This one is the affordable version of the Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch last year. It shares most of the features we saw in the Fossil Gen 5 smartwatch.
Fossil Gen 5E comes in two sizes — 42mm and 44mm. It features a 1.19-inch OLED display and packs Snapdragon Wear 3100, 1 GB RAM, and 4GB storage. The watch is also 3ATM rated for water resistance. The watch can handle splashes but shouldn’t be used while swimming. It also has NFC to handle mobile payments.
The watch runs on WearOS and several features such as fitness tracking, sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, etc.
It has a built-in speaker and microphone, so you can make and accept calls straight from the watch. You can also access phone’s voice assistant.
There’s no GPS, so it will use the phone’s GPS for location data. It also lacks an ambient light sensor, altimeter, or compass sensors.
It is priced at $249 for both sizes and will go on sale in the first week of November.
