Amazon’s Fire TV devices are getting Live TV feature in India

Live TV on Fire TV devices

On Thursday, Amazon introduced the ‘Live TV’ feature for its Fire TV devices in India. So, customers can now access several live TV channels direct from the Fire TV home screen. For this, Amazon has partnered with popular content providers like SonyLIV, Voot, Discovery+, NextG TV, and Zee5 to integrate their Live Tv experience on Fire TV devices.

It is worth noting that you still need to subscribe to any of these apps to get Live TV access. If you have installed any of these apps and have subscriptions, you will see channels in the “Live” tab for quick access to Live tv channels available to you.

Users will get access to several popular channels including Sony SAB HD, Colors HD, SET HD, Nick HD+, Dangal, DD National, News18 India, MTV Beats HD, SONY BBC Earth HD, Mastii TV Music, and Discovery for now. Zee TV, Zee Cinema, and Zee News will also be added soon.

The channel Guide can be accessed through the guide button on their Alexa Voice Remote Lite. Customers will also see ‘On Now’ row on the basis of downloaded apps and subscriptions.

It will show a bar on the bottom of each content thumbnail indicating the real-time progress. Users can also set their favorite Chanels for quick access using voice via Alexa.

Amazon has already started rolling out the feature to all existing Fire TV devices and it should be available to all users over the next few weeks.
