Sony has finally confirmed the pricing details of the upcoming gaming console PlayStation 5. PlayStation 5 will be available at $499.99 while the digital edition will cost $399.99. Pre-orders will begin on September 17th and shipping will start on November 12th.

On November 12th, PlayStation 5 will be available only in the US, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea. The rest of the world will get the gaming console on November 19th. Sony will confirm the release date for China later.

PlayStation 5 also offers backward compatibility for most of the PlayStation 4 lineup. Square-Enix has also confirmed that Final Fantasy XVI will be exclusive to PlayStation. God of War franchise is also coming back to the PS5. Sony and Santa Monica Studio announced the God of War Ragnarok.

Sony announced PlayStation 5 back in June this year without revealing the pricing.

At this pricing, PlayStation 5 will compete well against Xbox Series consoles. Xbox Series X costs $499 while the affordable console Xbox Series S costs $299. PlayStation 5 digital edition at $399 is really an attractive deal for most gamers.
