Instagram is now rolling out a new update brining some important changes to Reels. Most notable change is the Reels video length. Now users can post 30 seconds videos as opposed to 15 seconds.

The company is also increasing the timer from 3 seconds to 10 seconds. It is also adding trim and delete clips options to make editing simpler.

Even if the update doesn’t look big but these options will surely improve user experience and editing easier.

“We continue to improve Reels based on people’s feedback, and these updates make it easier to create and edit. While it’s still early, we’re seeing a lot of entertaining, creative content,” said Instagram Reels Director, Tessa Lyons-Laing.

TikTok became popular because one doesn’t need to learn video editing to be a video creator. Instagram should keep this in mind while rolling out new updates. Reels isn’t as simple and requires locating the right music and adding it to the recording.

Reels still lack a popular TikTok features duets that helped TikTok in getting active user engagement.

These newly added features should be available to all users in next few days.
