Google unveils Fundo, a platform for virtual events

Fundo

Google’s Area 120 has released a new platform for creators and influencers. This platform is Fundo that lets anyone host a virtual platform for a virtual meeting.

The platform was initially launched in limited beta last summer and is now available for anyone to use.

Initially, this platform was made for virtual photo booth-style service where fans could wait in line to chat briefly with the celebrity and get photos with them. Later it was expanded to make a platform for virtual meetings where the host can make it a free or paid event depending on their choice. Google takes a 20 percent cut of the revenue.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, most of the events and meets have become online events. So, Creators who have been hosting fan meets can now use this platform for hosting online fan meets.

Fundo allows for 30 users to be on-screen at the same time. The event can be accessed on the browser without needing to download any additional software.
