Swiggy has also jumped into the grocery delivery segment with the launch of Swiggy Instamart. For now, the company is testing the service in Gurugram and will expand later.
Swiggy says that it will deliver more than 2,500 items through its new service. Users can use the app to select different items from categories including instant meals, snacks, ice creams, beverages, fruits, and vegetables.
The procurement and delivery will happen via dark stores that have been converted to local fulfillment centers.
“We are currently testing Swiggy Instamart Instamart to see how it augments our consumer promise of enabling unparalleled convenience by making grocery delivery more instant and delightful,” said a Swiggy spokesperson.
Currently, the service is available in Gurugram and promises to deliver items within 45 minutes. The service will be available from 7:00 AM to 12:00 midnight. The company has also confirmed that it is planning to introduce the service in Bengaluru soon.
