As promised, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand today launched its new budget phone Redmi 9 Prime in India. The phone starts at Rs. 9999.

Redmi 9 Prime features a Full HD+ LCD Display. The display boasts 400 nits brightness and has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It packs Octa Core MediaTek Helio G80 processor with ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU. The phone has 4GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB storage option. Storage is also expandable up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

The phone has a quad-camera that includes 13 megapixels primary, 8 megapixels ultra-wide, 2 megapixels depth and 5 megapixels macro camera. It also has 8 megapixels selfie camera.

Redmi 9 Prime comes with both a physic; fingerprint sensor and IR sensor. The phone has P2i coating for splash resistant build and measures 163.30 x 77x 9.1 mm.

It has Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS and USB Type-C connectivity. The phone also packs 5020mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Redmi 9 Prime comes in Space Blue, Min Green, Sunrise Flare and Matte Black colors.

The base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB costs Rs. 9999 and the variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs. 11999. It will be available from Amazon.in and Mi.com starting from August 6th.
