After launching it in Europe in July, Xiaomi has now launched Mi TV Stick in India. It will be competing against Amazon Fire TV Stick in the country.

Mi TV Stick can make your normal HD TV a smart TV and you will be able to stream content from Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, Netflix, and others. Just plug it using the HDMI port.

Mi TV Stick runs on Android TV 9 and comes with Google Play store. So, you can install more compatible apps on your TV.

Mi TV Stick packs quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU and an ARM Mali-450 GPU. It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. It supports video decoding for VP9-10, H.265, H.264, VC-1, MPEG1/2/4, and Real8/9/10 and audio decoding for Dolby and DTS. The device can stream at up to 1,920×1,080 pixels at 60fps.

The device also supports Google Assistant voice controls and Chromecast. It comes pre-loaded with Google’s Data Saver. So you know the data consumption and can put a cap to avoid unnecessary data charges.

Mi TV Stick is priced at Rs. 2,799 in India and will on sale starting August 7 at 12 pm (noon). It will be available from Mi.com, Flipkart, and Mi Home stores. Xiaomi is already selling Mi Box 4K at Rs. 3499.
