Google India has launched its job search app Kormo in India to help people find entry-level jobs easily. This jobs search app was launched in Bangladesh in 2018 and expanded it to Indonesia last year.

It is important to note that Google actually brought Kormo in India last year as ‘Jobs Spot’ on Google Pay app. Now it is rebranding Jobs Spot on Google Pay as Kormo Jobs in India.

Kormo Jobs app is now available in Google Play Store. It is really easy to set up a profile and get a digital CV. One can then apply directly to jobs listed on the app. The app also helps them learn new skills. Google claims that they already have over 2 million verified jobs by employers like Zomato and Dunzo.

“In the wake of the pandemic, the jobs landscape stands altered, with demand shifting to new services that require different sets of skills and experience. Businesses of all sizes face the challenges of the new normal, while job seekers are having to adapt to this shift quickly. We are heartened to be able to play a helpful role in facilitating connections to impact lives for the better, including introducing important features like remote interviewing earlier this year to ensure social distancing,” Bickey Russell, Regional Manager and Operations Lead, Kormo Jobs, Google said in a blog post.

This isn’t Google’s first attempt in the jobs segment. It launched a job search engine in 2017 in the US. Later this job search engine was expanded to other markets including India.
