Google has officially discontinued the Pixel 3a series. Both the phones are now out of stock on the official Google Store. Only third-party retailers are selling these phones until the stock is available.

“Google Store has sold through its inventory and completed sales of Pixel 3a. For people who are still interested in buying Pixel 3a, the product is available from some partners while supplies last,” Google said in a statement.

Pixel 3a series was an attempt by Google to bring a good camera in the cheaper segment, but consumers still found it costly. So, the was a failure. People already have good phones from OnePlus and Oppo Reno in this segment.

Pixel 4a is in works but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis. The phone was expected to be introduced in June at the Android 11 beta launch but now it will be launched sometime in July this month.

If Google really wants to taste success in smartphones, it must understand that people now value for their money. They won’t throw away their money on a smartphone just for good camera software features. People also check for hardware specs and compare phones before buying. That’s why OnePlus is doing well.
