India’s telecom giant Airtel has partnered with Verizon to bring Secure Enterprise-Grade video conferencing service BlueJeans to India. The service in India will be called Airtel BlueJeans.

BlueJeans is Verizon’s enterprise-grade video conferencing service and Airtel will be serving out under Airtel’s brand in the country. BlueJeans is reliable and trusted for enterprises. It lets you people communicate and collaborate across mobile, desktop, and browser.

The service also offers enterprise-level security features such as meeting lock, secure transmission and storage, randomized meeting IDs, participant passcodes, fraud detection, and a variety of authentication options. it offers HD video and Dolby Voice for a superior experience. BlueJeans can also accommodate up to 50,000 participants on a call.

For Indian consumers, Airtel has also setup data centres in India for data localisation. There will also be an integrated audio solution offering customers convenient dial-in options to join the meetings.

Airtel BlueJeans will be available free for consumers. There will be premium plans but the company has not confirmed them yet.

“We will have three kinds of packages for our consumers — one for large enterprise, the second one for medium and the third for tiny or small business. We will reveal packages for BlueJeans over the next few days,” Vittal said. He also assured that prices for BlueJeans will be extremely competitive in India.

BlueJeans was founded by Krish Ramakrishnan and Alagu Periyannan back in 2009. Verizon acquired BlueJeans network back in April this year for less than $500 million. The acquisition came at the right time when most of the businesses were looking for a good video conferencing service for their business.

Now when BlueJeans is coming to India, it will have to compete against the most popular Zoom and recently launched JioMeet. JioMeet is available to consumers and businesses at no charge and offers conference calls for up to 24 hours.

Airtel BlueJeans that includes BlueJeans Meetings, BlueJeans Events, BlueJeans Rooms, and BlueJeans Gateway for Microsoft Teams is now available in the country.
