We already knew that OnePlus is working on an affordable mid-range phone to reach more consumers. But there was no confirmation on the name. A few leaks claim it to be OnePlus 8 Lite while some other reports talked about OnePlus Nord. Now the company has officially confirmed that the new phone will be called OnePlus Nord.

“We are immensely proud of our flagship products and will continue to create more tech-leading flagships for our users. Now we are excited to share the OnePlus experience with even more users around the world through this new product line,” said OnePlus CEO Pete Lau in the announcement.

OnePlus began its journey by selling cheaper smartphones but prices kept going up with the time. Now OnePlus sells smartphones for more than Rs. 35000 making it costly for most Indian consumers. So, the company decided to try its luck in the affordable segment.

As per leaks, OnePlus Nord could come with a 6.55-inch 90Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 765G processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. It could also feature a dual camera with 48 megapixels primary and 16 megapixels secondary camera.

The phone will be officially launched in India at an event on July 10.
